IVF treatment is one of the greatest boon of recent times where a couple who could never have conceived naturally can now hope for getting pregnant and enjoy the benefits of parenthood.

There are many clinical situations where the couple is desirous of being a parent but cannot. In all the above cases pregnancy through IVF or commonly known as test tube baby treatment is the only option. The couple will have to undergo few tests, understand the procedure of IVF treatment from the doctor. 

Another benefit is that in IVF, the extra embryos   can be frozen and used for transfer in the subsequent cycles without taking the hormonal injections for ovarian stimulation. This does reduce the cost of treatment cycle and most importantly the success of frozen embryo transfer is at times better than fresh embryo transfer.

In an IVF treatment, the biopsy of the embryo can be done to detect any genetic problem so as to transfer the best quality embryo. For e.g. Thalassemia can be detected in the embryo biopsy and only a genetic normal embryo chosen to be transferred.
